Getting Started With Web Development

The best way to get started with web development is to build a geocities website with animated gifs and tables and iframes for layout. Then learn c++ for 5-10 years. After that, get a job where you learn that tables aren't supposed to be used for layouts, but you can make drop shadows in photoshop, but you have to make 8 smaller images out of it so that all the borders are right. And you have to get a polyfill for IE6 png transparency. When you've done that for 6-8 years, you'll realize that you need some PHP, which is close enough to c++, so you're all set there.

Next, get a Jr. Dev job making javascript applications. Javascript is also just like c++ so you're all set there. At this point, you can change the title on your resume to Software Engineer and you will get a ton of leads. Then you should learn VueJS and react and every other javascript library and buy every domain for any idea you ever think of just in case.

And there you have it. You are a web developer!
